The players had every right to feel proud of their performance against Sliema. But they are not the only ones. I want to take this opportunity to thank our fans for their magnificent support last Saturday, because they helped us through a testing League match encounter. We knew we had to win last Saturday. Following our draw against Birkirkara getting three points quickly was very important and we did that against a very well organized Sliema side, as this season we drew twice (1-1, 0-0,) in the first phase of the Championship and both were difficult games.Floriana are next on Saturday, 31st March, Freedom Day. It’s a big game (Derby Match), but it’s not any bigger than Hibernians, Birkirkara, Sliema or Balzan. They’re all are big games when you’re at Valletta and it doesn’t matter who you are playing or what competition it’s in, the objective is always the same to win the game. Probability that for next Saturday’s Match, MFA Guest of Honour is UEFA President Michel Platini.
We would like to offer a warm welcome to Mr Platini. City supporters are our 12th man and I` am sure that for next Saturday’s match our unique support will adhere to the proud traditions and history that have for so long made It-tfal tal Belt, stand out from the crowd. I can’t wait to hear the roar as our players come out of the tunnel next Saturday.
